The Company targets the region's growing middle class with over 80 outlets in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and South Korea. We completed the sale of this business in 2023.

In 2013 we announced the sale of our entire investment in AFC, which operated the Asian Food Channel, a 24-hour TV channel broadcasting food and lifestyle programming tailored to audiences in the Asia Pacific region. We made our first investment in AFC in 2008. The sale was part of a 100% acquisition by former US media conglomerate Scripps Networks Interactive Inc. ("Scripps"), to strengthen its competitive position in Asia. Scripps was acquired in 2018 by Discovery Communications, who have since rebranded the Asian Food Channel as the Asian Food Network.

In December 2014 Symphony exited its investment in Privee Holdings Pte. Ltd, which operates under the brand-name Maison Takuya, a luxury hand crafted leather goods brand marketed globally. With a retail network covering France, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Switzerland, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, and the US, Maison Takuya’s products were sold in high-end stores including Bergdorf Goodman in New York and Hankyu in Tokyo. Europe and Japan accounted for the majority of sales, during the time of our investment.

CTS, established in 2013, provides turnkey solutions for schools, that include hardware, software, maintenance, and training support, all catering to the growing demand for state-of-the-art technology-driven classrooms for primary and secondary schools in the GCC region. Symphony completed the sale of its interest in CTS in 2023.

In 2016, we entered into our investment in French luxury furniture brand Liaigre. Established in 1985, the brand is a celebrity favourite, sought for its renowned minimalistic style. With a strong intellectual property portfolio, Liaigre provides a range of bespoke furniture, lighting, fabric and leather, as well as accessories – and also undertakes exclusive interior architecture projects for select yachts, hotels and restaurants, and private residences. With 26 showrooms around the world, Liaigre is also a presence in Asia with ateliers in Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore, and Shanghai.

Luxury lifestyle company CHANINTR (“Chanintr”) is based in Thailand and primarily sells high-end American and European furniture and household accessory brands which currently include Liaigre, Barbara Barry, and Herman Miller among others. The company also provides furniture, fixtures, and equipment solutions for various real estate and hotel projects. Separately, they launched Chanintr Residences in 2019, showcasing custom-designed luxury residences as turnkey projects.

Chanintr also operates within the F&B space, holding the franchise for operation of the Clinton Street Baking Company in select Asian markets. Internally, they operate Café Craft, which sits in the showroom of Chanintr Craft in Bangkok, showcasing Chanintr’s in-house brands.

With sustainability initiatives high on the agenda for the company, Chanintr became a business signatory of the United Nations Global Compact in 2021, a voluntary initiative that supports UN-led principles covering human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.
