In 2019, we fully exited our investment in IHH Healthcare Berhad (“IHH”), the healthcare subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional Berhad ("Khazanah") the investment holding arm of the government of Malaysia. IHH is listed on the Malaysian and Singaporean stock exchanges and is one of the largest listed healthcare providers in the world by market capitalisation. Its portfolio of healthcare assets, which includes Parkway Holdings Limited, Pantai Holdings Berhad, International Medical University, Acibadem Saglik Yatirimlari Holding A.S., Integrated Healthcare Hastaneler Turkey Sdn Bhd and a significant shareholding in Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Limited, gives IHH a broad range of assets in Turkey, Malaysia, Singapore and India, as well as a presence in China, Brunei, Abu Dhabi and central and eastern Europe.

Symphony invested in ASG Hospital Private Limited (“ASG”), a full-service eyecare provider with operations in India, and with a presence in Africa and Nepal, in 2019. ASG eye-healthcare services include outpatient consultation and a full suite of inpatient procedures (cataract, retina surgeries, Lasik, glaucoma, cornea and other complicated eye surgeries), as well as an optical and pharmacy business attached to their clinics.

An investment initially made in 2007, we exited our holding in Parkway Life REIT (“P-REIT”) in 2017. Established by Parkway Holdings Limited to hold income-producing real-estate primarily used for healthcare-related purposes, P-REIT remains the largest REIT of its kind in Asia. At the time, it owned properties in Singapore – including Mount Elizabeth, Gleneagles and Parkway East Hospitals – all leased to Parkway Holdings, and 43 additional nursing homes properties in Japan, Singapore and Malaysia. P-REIT also owned a manufacturing and distribution facility for pharmaceutical products.
